Position Summary:
RK is seeking a dynamic, hands-on Quantity Surveyor to oversee all building and civil engineering projects. This role is critical to ensuring smooth project execution through close coordination with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders. The Quantity Surveyor will play a key role in tracking quantities, timelines, and progress, ensuring that works are delivered in accordance with technical specifications and project schedules. Accurate documentation, reporting, and proactive issue resolution will be central to the success of this role.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
• Follow up on project progress to ensure timely completion in line with the approved schedule.
• Ensure proper implementation of works according to specifications and required quality standards.
• Prepare and maintain accurate project reports, site documentation, and records of executed quantities.
• Calculate and verify executed quantities on site, ensuring they match actual implementation, approved drawings, and project specifications.
• Coordinate with the design team to analyze architectural and service drawings.
• Prepare BOQs (Bills of Quantities) based on specification sheets provided by the sales team.
• Identify and resolve discrepancies between BOQs, drawings, specifications, and contract conditions.
• Manage the valuation of work completed and handle claims and variations.
• Prepare interim and final valuations, variation orders, and site claims.
• Conduct feasibility studies and value engineering exercises.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize project outcomes and achieve value for money.
• Provide expert advice on procurement, risk management, and cost-saving measures.
• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain the best prices and terms.
• Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents.
• Monitor and control costs throughout the project, including forecasting and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in quantity surveying, project coordination, or technical supervision—preferably within the construction or infrastructure sectors.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, industry standards, and regulatory frameworks.
• Experience in quantity takeoff, site measurement, and verification of executed works.
• Familiarity with building codes and service guidelines (e.g. NBC, ANSI/ASHRAE for HVAC, LEED).
• Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural, structural, and MEP drawings using AutoCAD.
• Skilled in project documentation, reporting, and progress tracking.
• Working knowledge of contract procedures and documentation.
• Proficiency in tools/software relevant to technical coordination and quantity verification.
• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Fluency in English is required; Greek is a plus.
